For visitors

The observation deck and a small museum of meteorological instruments are open to the public. A small lecture hall is also available for group excursions.

Visitors are obliged to follow the visitor regulations.

The Observatory does not have public restrooms.

Opening hours

  • April – October: daily except Mondays 11 am – 6 pm
  • November – March: weekends and public holidays 11 am – 4 pm, other times on special occasions.
  • For technical reasons, the number of visitors present is limited to 40 people in the observatory area.
  • Entrance ends 30 minutes before the end of opening hours.
  • Closed in case of dangerous weather.

Single admission fee

  • Basic 50 CZK
  • Reduced 30 CZK (children under 15 and seniors over 65)

Group excursions

It is possible to arrange in advance a professional excursion to the observatory for a group of up to 30 people, in two variants:

1) Basic excursion with video projection, separate ascent to the observation deck and visit of the museum; price including entrance fee 2000 CZK (1500 CZK for a group of children with an escort or seniors) – only in Czech.

The excursion can be arranged all year round on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, in justified cases also on Saturday or Sunday. If you are interested, please contact the Observatory staff at 417 872 101

2) Expert guided tour with a scientist in the lecture hall, on the observation deck and in the museum; price including entrance fee 5000 CZK (4500 CZK for a group of children with an escort or seniors)
